Jedi Twi'lek Project

This was the main piece of coursework in the second semester of my second year at University. We had 12 weeks to create a character mesh, rig it using the Biped system in 3D Studio Max, and then create a short animation to demonstrate the modelling and animation skills we had learned.

The A/O renders to the left show the base mesh. Given that organic objects are not one of my favourite things to model, I was pleased with the result. The model had to have a triangle count of between 8,000 and 11,000, and my model contains 10,668.

I was also particularly pleased with the relatively problem free animation. During the modelling process, I had been especially careful to construct clean edge loops, and allow for mesh deformation around joints.

Rigging the model only caused minor issues, all of which were easily resolved with some tweaking.

All textures are also original work created in Photoshop.

The full write-up of the project can be viewed here.
