Spitfire Project - High Detail

This is one of my own summer projects which I worked on between my first and second years at University. This was primarily a project for practicing UVW Unwrapping, which I think I now understand much better! The texture itself is taken from a reference image I adapted to fit my model.

This high poly model has 18,760 polys.

I also wanted to make this model useable in a Game Engine, so I made a lower detail version of the model, by exchanging Turbosmoothing for smoothing groups. As you can see from the renders, the model does not lose much of its character but the polygon count has been cut down to 4,517 polys. This could be cut down further if I lowered the segment amount on the wheels.
