The very first tutorials in the 3D Studio Max help file teach you how to model some simple chess pieces. I fleshed out my models a little bit more and made this scene.
I like this, partly because it was the first real thing I made in 3D Studio, but also because of the different levels it can be read on; is it simply a chess game? Or does it represent something more fundamental in life?

Why buy a very overpriced anniversary card when you can make a composition that is much more personal in Max?
This piece was good for learning about simple arraying of objects (the chain is made up from on object around along a spline).
This is a very simple composition but sometimes, less is more.
